ICTO2026 invites submissions in all areas of IS research, and particularly encourage those related to the conference theme “Technologies for a Better World: Navigating Research and Innovation in Times of Turbulence ”.

 

The purpose of this conference is to provide a platform for academics and practitioners to identify and explore the issues, opportunities, and solutions that promote ICT convergence and find new business and societal value from ICT.

Topics of Submission 

Areas of interest include, amongst others, the following:

Contributions are welcome across the following eight themes. The list is indicative rather than exhaustive

​

Theme 1 — Technology, Resilience, and Crisis Response in Turbulent Times

• Information systems and organizational resilience in the face of crises, including health, economic, geopolitical, and environmental disruptions

• Digital technologies supporting entrepreneurs, SMEs, and vulnerable organizations in uncertain and turbulent contexts

• The role of digital platforms in maintaining social bonds, community support, and mental health during crises

• Digital transformation and agile innovation in emergency and high-pressure situations

• Information systems and supply chain resilience in disrupted and uncertain environments

• Technologies for crisis anticipation, preparedness, coordination, and recovery

• The ambivalent role of technologies in crises: enabling resilience while potentially amplifying misinformation, exclusion, and dependency

Theme 2 — AI, Ethics, and Responsible Innovation

• Artificial intelligence and the empowerment of consumers, citizens, workers, and communities

• Algorithmic bias, fairness, equity, transparency, and social justice in AI systems

• Corporate Digital Responsibility and responsible AI governance

• AI and vulnerable groups: opportunities for inclusion and risks of discrimination or marginalization

• Ethical frameworks for the design, development, deployment, and regulation of AI

• AI and the well-being of consumers, employees, managers, and entrepreneurs

• Human agency, autonomy, and accountability in increasingly automated environments

• Trustworthy AI, explainability, and responsible human–AI interaction

• Technologies supporting the mental health and well-being of entrepreneurs, executives, workers, and citizens

• Digital tools for managing stress, anxiety, burnout, and psychosocial risks in organizations

• Remote work, hyperconnectivity, digital fatigue, and their impact on psychological well-being

• Information systems for early detection, prevention, and management of psychosocial risks

• Technologies promoting inclusion, accessibility, and equity in the workplace

• The dark side of digital technologies: surveillance, technostress, isolation, and loss of work-life boundaries

• Designing human-centered technologies that support dignity, care, and quality of life
